You lean forward in your captain’s chair and take a deep breath. Hopefully, warp speed won’t make you full-on sick, just a little sweaty. And sweats can be blamed on the giant stowaway insectoid who lives in the temperature control room. He likes it toasty and he can’t be stopped.

“Navigator, utilize warp speed,” you command.

Your navigator pushes a few buttons on her console. The stars in the window quickly transform into long thin lines as the phenomenal speed pushes you back in your chair. Colors spiral in front of you, as the ship sways back and forth, up and down, and a corkscrew or two through the warp tunnel. Sweat pours down your brow. You get the thrills, the chills, and the ills all at once.
